Engaged Citizens. Innovative Ideas.

2019 was a great year! In 2019, we:

  • Launched the FutureHomes program to rehabilitate vacant and abandoned homes in our neighborhoods. Our first home, on Goodnor Road, was renovated from top to bottom, with an upgraded kitchen and baths, new electrical and heating systems, a new front porch, and more. It sold within three days of listing to a new homeowner.

  • Conducted a series of neighborhood leadership workshops.

  • Awarded 8 mini-grants for neighborhood-based projects.

  • Engaged in a long-overdue planning study of the Noble Road area.

  • Used creative placemaking techniques to improve the Cedar Lee Mini-Park (the underutilized walkway from parking behind the Cedar Lee Theatre).

  • Published the award-winning Heights Observer community news.

  • Presented the seventh annual Heights Music Hop, and much more.

In these efforts and in all that we do, we rely on your support.  At year’s end, please consider contributing to our Annual Fund so that we can continue our work to strengthen our neighborhoods and ensure a bright future for the Heights.
